  • Binge eating scores decreased by 37.8% immediately after treatment.
  • Improvements increased to 47.9% one month later.
  • Nearly 74% of participants no longer met criteria for binge-eating behaviour at follow-up.
  • Participants lost an average of approximately four pounds during the study period.

Researchers also reported high patient satisfaction, with most participants describing treatment as comfortable and easy to tolerate.

Supporting these results, broader research on rTMS has reported similar trends, including:

  • Reduced binge eating episodes
  • Decreased food cravings and improved impulse control
  • Potential reductions in other disordered eating behaviours.

Binge eating disorder can affect pelvic health as well as eating habits. Excess body weight is a major risk factor for urinary incontinence because increased abdominal pressure places additional strain on the pelvic floor and bladder. Research shows that even modest weight loss can improve bladder leakage symptoms.
