Vasectomy Reversals: Restoring Fertility Options

Book Appointment

Many men come to me with questions about fertility after a vasectomy. Life circumstances change; whether it’s a couple’s new outlook on family planning, a change in relationships, or simply a desire to regain reproductive options. In many cases a vasectomy reversal provides the best path back to fertility.

About Vasectomy Reversals

A vasectomy reversal is a microsurgical procedure designed to restore the natural pathway for sperm, giving men the opportunity to conceive again. In vasovasostomy, the vas deferens (the small tubes that carry sperm from the testicles) are carefully realigned and connected, creating a tight seal and open channel for sperm flow. This reconnection is performed under high powered magnification, maximizing success through precise surgical technique while minimizing tissue trauma to allow for an uneventful recovery.

Surgery is performed under general anesthesia (ie. you are put to sleep), and a local nerve block is also administered to ensure that you wake up without any pain.  The stitches used to close the small incision in the skin are dissolvable.

After surgery and a short time in the recovery room, patients are given detailed instructions to optimize healing and the chances of success. Patients can return home the same day with a recovery plan, a post-operative call from my nurse, and follow-up with me to evaluate success.

With over 20 years of experience in performing vasectomy reversal, I have helped hundreds of men restore fertility and realize their shared dreams with their partners of growing their family.  If you are considering a vasectomy reversal, my team is here to answer your questions and guide you every step of the way.
